The great room--an enlargement of the original 1920s hunting cabin--is the heart of Talahogan. Although the old fireplace is about all that's left of the original structure, the room still radiates the cozy country feeling of long-ago Arizona days as well as a warmth, tranquility and harmony with the surrounding red rock beauty. The room's angled walls and large windows are placed to dramatize those views, and its earth-tone, southwestern decor to complement them. From this room--mainly windows--you have the most sweeping, unobstructed panorama of Red Rock Country in all of Sedona--almost 360 degrees. The sitting areas look out upon its southern and eastern tableaux, the kitchen to the west, and the dining area onto virtually the whole expanse.

The lowered ceiling gives the fireplace area a cozy, intimate feel
At night, a warm glow, thanks to the mirror effect of the copper-toned window film
The fireplace radiates warmth and heat on cold winter nights in Red Rock Country.
Rustic touches throughout, like this old lantern and clock made from a wagon wheel
